Our expert staff has years of experience in elite performance training, strength and conditioning and physical therapy. The staff at Impact Sports Performance and Synapse Physical Therapy have worked with athletes in the NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, IHL, NCAA and US National teams.

Jamie comes to Impact with a wealth of experience in the sports arena. He played linebacker in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans in 2000 following a career at Northern Colorado. At UNC, Jamie earned 1st Team All-American and 1st Team All-Academic Honors and set records for most career interceptions returned for touchdowns and tackles in a playoff game. He also ranks in UNC's all time top five in several categories including tackles, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries.

Following his playing career, Jamie's passion for working with kids and athletes, combined with his vast knowledge and experience in speed and strength conditioning lead him into the field of sport specific training. His playing career, his knowledge of performance training and his passion for learning and discovering new beneficial ways to train athletes gives him a rare and exciting combination. Jamie has long term goals of working with young student athletes and helping them achieve their goals, both on the field and in the classroom. He strives to instill hard work ethic while creating a fun and energetic training environment. His recent accomplishments include being the strength and conditioning coach for the Colorado Rapids MLS (2006, 2008-present) as well as the USA Rugby Collegiate All-Americans (2007).  In 2009, Jamie was hired by Powerade to be the featured trainer for their recent commercial featuring Shawne Merriman (San Diego Chargers), Carmelo Anthony (Denver Nuggets), Steve Smith (Carolina Panthers) and Ryan Howard (Philidelphia Phillies). 

Jamie is married to his college sweetheart, Kari, and has two children, Casey (7 yrs) and Madison (4 yrs). He loves spending time with his family watching movies, playing at the park, and hanging out with friends.

Michael, a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, brings over 15 years of experience in the field of sports medicine and rehabilitation to Impact Sports.  As part of the Impact Team, Michael will provide sports performance training, rehabilitation as well as marketing.  A native of Chicago, Michael has been fortunate to work with all levels of athletes from the weekend warrior to professional athletes.  Most recently he served as a Clinical Athletic Trainer at a Boulder sports medicine clinic.  Prior to this he was an Athletic Trainer with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL for 6 years, additionally he has worked with teams from the NBA, MLB, MLS and NFL.  He continues to work with the US Rugby and US Soccer national teams

Michael has been active with legislation in the athletic training profession.  He also teaches courses in anatomy and rehabilitation throughout the country.  Michael received a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from Southern Illinois University and a M.S. degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology from the University of Illinois. 

Michael and his wife Amy reside in Denver and enjoy spending time with their 3 year old triplets (Charlie, Molly and Katy) and their 1 year old twins (Patrick and Daniel).  Yes, you are reading this correctly, trips and twins!!!!! He also is a volunteer at The Denver Children’s Hospital.

Dan Soderlind, Performance Coach, ATC, CSCS

Dan is a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist.  After being the first intern ever at Impact, Dan rejoins the team following time spent working with many sports teams including the USA Rugby team at the World Cup in France

Dan finished his schooling at the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse, with an emphasis in exercise and sport science.  He brings a wealth of endurance sports experience to Impact being an expert level mountain bike, cross-country ski and road bike racer

Dan has lived in Colorado now for 3 years, but grew up in Minnesota playing baseball, hockey and skiing.  However, he spent most of his off seasons cycling, camping and kayaking.

Away from Impact, Dan spends his time hiking, playing music and as an active member of the Eldora Mountain Ski Patrol

Rylan comes to Impact with a strong athletic background and a wealth of coaching experience.  He is a recent graduate of Metropolitan State College of Denver with a BA in Exercise Science.  In highschool, Rylan was a three sport varsity athlete (football, basketball, baseball) earning All-conference and All-State awards in baseball and football.  After high school, Rylan went on to play middle infield at Otero Junior College and Mesa State College.

Rylan is currently an assistant high school baseball coach and is in pursuit of a certification in strength and conditioning.  He really enjoys working with young athletes and pushing them to the peak of their athletic potential. Rylan has trained hundreds of youth, high school, college and pro level athletes to increase their speed and overall performance on their "field" of play!

Outside of Impact, Rylan enjoys hiking, fly fishing and camping.  He met his wife in college at MSC and they have two children together; Payton(4) and Dane(2).

Ashlie comes to Imapct Sports with a bachelor's degree in Exersice Sport Science along with her master's in Sport Management. Ashlie, a performance coach, also specializes as a Hitting, Fielding, Catching and Pitching Instructor.  After a stellar playing career for the Florida Gators, Ashlie went into the coaching ranks at the University of Tennessee:

Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Karen Waters, joins the Impact Sports Team as our new Office Manager. Fresh off the boat in 1995, she attended Bryn Athyn College, in Philadelphia, PA, where she attained her Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. She then moved to Detroit, MI where she taught first and second grade for 8 years. Now she resides in Westminster, CO where her passion for health and family is her daily zest of life. Loving her sports and fitness she is an avid athlete – swimming, cycling, running, weight training, and soon to be a downhill skier!!
Karen is also our Arbonne consultant – with a wide knowledge base on our health products sold here such as Daily Vitamin Packs specially formulated for Men, Women, Teens and Children.  We also carry Arbonne Protien Powder, Joint Formula, NRG3GO Energy Fizz Tabs, Pure Swiss Skin Care, all of which are safe and beneficial!

Luis Gomez-Do'Ibarra, Basketball Instructor
Luis Gomez-Do'Ibarra

Luis was a member of the Mexican Olympic Center (COM), was a player in two Professional Premier League’s of Basketball in Mexico (known as “Liga Mayor” and “CIMEBA”) and was a professional player abroad.

In 1992, he brought the National Team of Mexico to Colorado to face two Div I NCAA Teams (CSU, and Air Force). During his tenure he was instrumental in dealing with the U.S.A. Olympic Center and FIBA (International Federation of Basketball. With this assignment Luis arranged meetings with executives of the NBA, including David Stern – President of the NBA and Steve Patterson – General Manager of the Houston Rockets of the NBA.

Lastly, Luis is the founder of the Boulder High School Gold Crown Program. He has coached in the YMCA and GC for at least 15 years for boys and girls teams. In addition, he has coached softball and soccer boys and girls teams for at least 12 years. He was the Freshman Coach for BHS in the 2007-2008 Season and Luis has won numerous Championships as a Player and as a Coach.

Jane Houck, Nutrition Counseling / MS, RD

Jane is a registered dietitian with over 20 years of experience in nutrition counseling.  In addition she has a Masters of Science in Nutrition with a specialty in sports nutrition.  She has worked with athletes of all levels from Olympic class to amateur.  She has worked in hospitals, wellness centers, eating disorder clinics, health clubs, sports medicine centers and Universities.

Ms. Houck’s experience includes counseling clients in all types of modified diets including weight loss, heart disease and nutrition for sport.  She has taught numerous classes on weight management and nutrition for athletes.  On a personal note Jane is a wife and a mother of three ranging in age from 16 – 11, who participate in competitive basketball and swimming and train at Impact.   In her free time she enjoys training and competing in triathlon and running events.

Jeff  brings a fun & energetic personality to Synapse Physical Therapy.  He earned his degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Athletic Training from the University of Northern Colorado.  He also holds a Master’s degree in Physical Therapy at Regis University. 

Jeff has been working as a Physical Therapist  for over 11 years.  He loves training athletes, especially baseball players and finds it very rewarding in getting people back to their activities.

Matt decided to become a Physical Therapist after having physical therapy for sports injuries in high school.  He went to Ohio State, earning a degree in Exercise Physiology, and graduated at Regis University with a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. Matt’s particular interest is in treating foot and ankle injuries.  He has treated professional and collegiate dancers, baseball players, runners, and hockey players.  Matt enjoys designing individualized programs created specifically for injuries.

Lauri attended the University of NE-Lincoln & the University of CO-Boulder, graduating with a degree in Sociology and Psychology.  She loves meeting people and working on the computer and so her position at Synapse Physical Therapy is a perfect fit.

Lauri has worked in the Jefferson County School District and in a retirement facility.  She currently has 2 children attending CU.  In her free time, she likes hiking, biking on trails & Starbucks.  She also shops and cleans for an elderly couple so that they can stay independent for a longer period of time.

Nicole Schaer traveled through Europe as a competitive skier.   She comes to Synapse Physical Therapy with an ACE (American Council on Exercise)  certification for personal training from Heritage College.  She interned with Impact Sports the summer 2008 and continues to provide personal training with Impact Sports.  Nicole hopes to gain more knowledge in this field and wants to continue her education to eventually become an athletic trainer.  She enjoys working with and helping people.

Ashley Ricklefs, PT Aid / ACSM / Instructor - Body Transformation

Ashley Ricklefs has a degree in Kinesiology and is ACSM certified as a personal trainer. After completing her internship with Impact Sports in 2008 she was hired on as PT Aid for Synapse Physical Therapy as well as the fitness intructor for Impact Sports Performance's Body Transformation classes. Ashley Ricklefs competes in physique competitions and specializes in weight loss and body transformation.  Ashley enjoys working with those who suffer from injuries and showing them that their injury does not have to prevent them from reaching their goals!

David has been treating athletes and injured clients since 1999.  He manages Boulder Therapeutics which has 3 office locations:  Boulder, Broomfield & Aurora.  He and his team of therapists specialize in Sports Therapy, Injury Rehabilitation and the relief of chronic pain patterns. They have worked with the Colorado Rapids since 1999 and combine a number of therapeutic techniques from various modalities such as Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Strain/Counter Strain, Trigger Point Therapy, and Breath Awareness.

David has worked as the Team Massage Therapist for the Colorado Rapids MLS Soccer since 1999, with the USA Rugby Team, as an Anatomy Instructor for Core Power Yoga Teacher Training & other studios since 2005.  He has also worked with the Denver Center for Performing Arts Dancers and Traveling Performers since 2000: Lord of the Dance, Kiss Me Kate, Burn the Floor, Victor Victoria, The Little Mermaid, Professional Cyclists and Athletes (NFL, World Cup, Olympic, All Star), MMA fighters, many Chiropractor, Physical Therapy and Doctor referrals, and is a Speaker at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. 

David works from the Boulder office location and can discuss your treatment options via phone or email.

Ashley Simmons, Licensed Massage Therapist

Ashley received her massage therapy certification from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. After studying massage for 2 years, she graduated with over 1,000 hours of hands-on training and massage experience.  She works with Boulder Therapeutics and provides results-oriented massage therapy.

She has a kind-hearted nature and is passionate about helping her clients heal.  Her areas of expertise are:  Sports Massage , Trigger Point Therapy, Injury Rehab/Prevention,  Swedish Massage  and  Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage. 
 
Ashley is an athlete having competed in snowboarding, soccer and rugby at the national level.  She has run many of Boulder's local 5-10K races and also has training in dance.  With her background in athletics, Ashley understands the therapeutic needs of today's athletes. Her education, knowledge, and experience with the treatment of basic athletic injuries aid her in the evaluation and treatment of her clients. 
 
Experience: Ashley has been working with the Colorado Rapids Major League soccer team since 2008 providing mid-week and game-day treatments to the players. She has 3 years experience as a medical assistant to high school trainers and has provided massage therapy to many different athletes from International Rugby teams (such as the Argentina Jaguars) to professional fighters (MMA) to runners at Bolder Boulder.
