Our expert staff has years of experience in elite performance training, strength and conditioning, physical therapy and massage therapy. The staff at Impact Sports Performance, Synapse Physical Therapy and Boulder Therapeutics have worked with athletes in the NFL, NHL, MLB, MLS, IHL, NCAA and US National teams.

Rylan has been with Impact from nearly the beginning, starting as an intern to working his way into the Director of Sports Performance role! He has a strong athletic background and a wealth of coaching wisdom.  He graduated from Metropolitan State College of Denver with a BA in Exercise Science.  In high school, Rylan was a three sport varsity athlete (football, basketball, baseball) earning All-conference and All-State awards in baseball and football.  After high school, Rylan went on to play middle infield at Otero Junior College and Mesa State College.

Rylan is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS throught the NSCA) and he also coaches Impact's Collegiate Summer Baseball Team.  He truly enjoys working with young athletes, pushing them to the peak of their athletic potential. Rylan has trained hundreds of youth, high school, college and pro level athletes to increase their speed and overall performance on their "field" of play! Rylan has organized and directed countless successful camps and clinics including the Todd Helton Baseball camp that also featured Florida Marlins AAA manager and hitting coach Greg Norton! Rylan also started our College Baseball Summer team, which, in it's second season (summer 2012), finished 13th in the Nation!

Outside of Impact, Rylan enjoys hiking, fly fishing and camping.  He met his wife in college at MSC and they have three children together; Payton, Dane and Brecken.

Tyler comes to Impact Sports with a wealth of experience in the field of sports performance.  He grew up playing mulitiple sports throughout his childhood from soccer to football.  In high school he was a four year varsity player in football and won 1st team all conference honors his senior year.  In 2006 Tyler's love of football and human performance led him to Colorado State University for a BS in Health and Exercise Science with a concentration in Health Promotion.  The program coursework was heavily weighted in internships-training athetes of various ages, performance levels and sports disciplines, as well as recreation management and an ACE personal training certification.  He was also a strength and conditioning assistant for Rocky Mountain High School and a performance specialist for a private strength and conditioning facility in the Fort Collins area.  After graduation in 2010 Tyler completed independent studies to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA in 2011 and is also a Certified United States Weightlifting Level 1 Coach.  After 2 years with Impact Sports, he has become seasoned in Nike SPARQ testing and training.  Tyler is passionate about motivating and advancing athletes of all abilities: physically, mentally and spiritually.

Tyler is also currently an assistant varsity/strength and conditioning coach for Brighton High School's girls soccer program and Praire View High School boys soccer program.

Tim is a welcomed assest to the Impact Sports Performance team! His nutrition programs have taken collegiate and professional athletic performance to the next level.  He provides comprehensive nutritional counselling to every type of client.  Not only does Tim excel in custom nutrional counselling, but he is an expert in the fitness industry.  Tim is a Certified United States Weightlifting Level 1 coach having brought local sports teams, and collegiate and professional athletes to elite levels.  Tim was a multisport standout for Niwot High School, which carried over to the collegiate setting.  He attended Northwestern College where he was a 4 year starter in football.  Working in a highly competitive environment at Northwestern provided a great level of physical, mental, and spiritual growth, something Tim was eager to engage in upon his 2009 graduation with a BA in Chemistry. Ever since joining the Impact staff, Tim has been determined to build and train each athlete to be the most functional, physical, and mentally tough.

Tim spends a majority of his free time outdoors enjoying Colorado.  He is an avid fisherman, backpacker, and is always looking for ways to test his body's limit.  He is currently working through the 14ers of Colorado and participates in the Tough Mudder series.

Alea Wildman was first introduced to our staff back in 2006 with an ACL rupture.  Impact Sports Performance and Synapse Physical Therapy had a key role in getting Alea back to stellar athletism.  Alea played volleyball collegiately at CSU Pueblo (2008-2011) and has worked for Impact Sports Performance for the last three during her off season.  Below is a just a few of Alea's accomplishments.   

2010: Was a RMAC academic honor roll selection ... Led the team in kills with 247 while averaging 2.81 kills per game ... Finished third on the team in blocks with 37 ... Also accumulated 271.5 points in 2010 while averaging 3.08 points per game.

2009: Finished third on the team in kills with 215 for an average of 2.22 per game ... Earned 37 digs in 2009 ... Registered 34.0 blocks with an average of 0.35 blocks per game.

2008: Saw significant playing time as a freshman, playing in 26 matches and starting 23 ... Led the team in kills with 188, averaging 2.04 kills per game.

High School: Was a first team selection to the Colorado 3A all-state team as a senior while at the Academy of Charter Schools in Westminster, Colo. ... All-state honorable mention as a junior ... Led the state of Colorado (all classifications) in kills as a senior, only a season removed from tearing her ACL ... 3-time first-team all-conference ... Frontier League Player of the Year ... District 6 title during her senior campaign ... Also competed in basketball, helping the Wildcats to the District 6 championship in 2008 and earning first team all-league and 3A state honorable mention honors ... An outstanding student, she graduated with a 4.0 GPA ... Was a member of "National Honor Society" and "Invisible Children".

Jarrett is a Colorado native!  Growing up he was very active in baseball and football.  Jarrett attended Horizon High School and participated in both of these sports.  He was awarded All-Conference defensive back while playing at Horizon, and offered a scholarship to play baseball at McCook Community College (NE).  After receiving his Associates Degree, Jarrett pursued his education at Colorado State University majoring in Health and Exercise Science.  At CSU, Jarrett developed a passion working with young athletes and coaching them to achieve their goals.  Jarrett enjoys spending his free time up in the mountains either snowboarding, fishing, or on the golf course.

Tim was born in El Paso Texas, but spent the majority of his athletic
seeking career in Littleton Colorado. In high school, Tim was a 4 year
Cross Country and Track varsity athlete. While studying for his BS in
Health & Exercise Science at Colorado State, Tim was a seasonal wildland
firefighter for 3 years. His other work experience includes working with
athletes in multiple facilities, managing the student Rec Center at CSU, &
an assistant strength and conditioning coach at Poudre High School.
Throughout all of his experiences Tim has developed a love of working
with, and improving young athletes in all facets of life. Outside of the
weight room he likes to grill and spend time with his family and friends.

Jacy has been an impact athlete since 2008.  She graduated from Silver Creek High School in 2010.  She lettered and started all four seasons in soccer and tallied 53 goals and 49 assists during her high school career.  She also earned All-Northern Conference honors four times and was selected to the All-Area Team four times.  She finished her high school career with 2 All-State and 4 All-Conference selections.  Jacy also lettered four seasons in basketball.  She played club soccer for Colorado Nike Rush and the ODP.  Jacy is a recent graduate of Oregon State University with a BA in Exercise Science.  While at Oregon State she was a four year starter and 2 year captain for the women's soccer team earning Pac 12 honorable mention honors.  Professionally she trained and tried out with SGS Essen and Hoffoheim in the German Bundesliga in the spring of 2014.  She currently plays for the Colorado Rush Semi-pro soccer team.

Lisa has been a part of our Impact Sports family for many years now, having two sons who have trained here since we first opened our doors, and her passion and desire to help young athletes is what lead us to bring her on board as a team member.  A self proclaimed "Hockey Mom", Lisa was born and raised near Philadelphia, PA and is an avid sports fan supporting both Philadelphia and Colorado teams.

Lisa comes to us with a background in management, finance, sales and customer service and her true passion, Early Childhood Education.  When not at Impact Sports, she enjoys all that Colorado has to offer, she is a runner, likes hiking, tennis and gardening.  Son Jake is a student at Colorado State University and Ryan is a senior at Horizon High School while playing Junior A Hockey.

Janessa was born and raised in Colorado. She graduated High school from a tiny  (graduating class of 5) private school called Hyland Christian her in Westminster, Colorado. She grew up playing soccer, figure skating, and later developed the love of other sports such as, volleyball, basketball, and even an all women's rugby club. She has run two full marathons in Oklahoma City, and one half marathon here in Denver. In High school she was awarded VIP in soccer two years, and in volleyball two years, and was awarded female athlete of the year her senior year in 2009. She plans on graduating from Metropolitan University of Denver in May 2014, with a degree in Exercise Physiology and a minor in Nutrition. She is in pursuit to obtain certifications through ACSM, as well as CSCS this spring. She is passionate about sports, all around health, fitness, and helping others to better themselves through these realms. In her free time, she enjoys time with her family, hiking the beautiful Rockies, or doing other outdoor activities.

Ryan has been playing baseball since he was 4 years old.  Ryan went to high school locally at Niwot High School, and then played and attended 4 years of college at Long Beach State in California. He has experience for the last 8 years working and teaching kids the basics and mechanics of both pitching and hitting. Working very closely with his personal coaches giving doing clinics for kids 6 years all the way through high school. 
Jamie Heiner, CSCS, Owner/Consultant
Jamie Heiner

Jamie, owner and co-founder of Impact Sports Performance, brings a wealth of experience in the sports arena.  A Colorado native, Jamie attended the University of Northern Colorado and played professionally in the NFL for the Tennessee Titans in 2000. He also played in the NFL Europe League for the Amsterdam Admirals as the 3rd Linebacker taken in the NFLE Draft in 2001.  He also played for the Colorado Crush of the AFL in 2003.  At UNC, Jamie earned 1st Team All-American and 1st Team All-Academic Honors and set records for most career interceptions returned for touchdowns and tackles in a playoff game. He also ranks in UNC's all time top five in several categories including tackles, forced fumbles and fumble recoveries while being and integral part of the back-to-back National Championship teams in 1996-97.

Following his playing career, Jamie's passion for working with young athletes, combined with his vast knowledge and experience in the sports performance field led him to open Impact Sports where he could invest into the lives of the local athletic community. His playing career, his knowledge of performance training and his passion for learning gives him a rare and exciting combination. Jamie's lifelong vision is to work with young student athletes and help them achieve their goals, both on the field and, more importantly, off the field. He strives to instill hard work ethic while creating a fun and energetic training environment. Jamie is also consultant for Nike/SPARQ in their Performance Division.  Some of Jamie's accomplishments include being the strength and conditioning coach for the Colorado Rapids MLS (2006-2010) as well as the USA Rugby Collegiate All-Americans (2007).  In 2009, Jamie was hired by Powerade to be the featured trainer for their Ion4 commercial featuring Shawne Merriman, Carmelo Anthony, Steve Smith and Ryan Howard.  In 2013, Jamie lead a Nike/SPARQ coaches clinic in Beijing, China for 60 coaches from Hong Kong, Beijing, and Shanghai, on the fundamentals of movement, soft tissue work and mobility of athletic movement.

Jamie is married to his college sweetheart, Kari, and has two children, Casey and Madison. He loves spending time with his family watching movies and playing at the park with his kids!

Michael, (an original owner at Impact Sports Performance) a Certified Athletic Trainer and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, brings over 18 years of experience in the field of sports medicine and rehabilitation to Impact Sports.  As part of the Impact Team, Michael provides sports performance training, rehabilitation as well as marketing.  A native of Chicago, Michael has been fortunate to work with all levels of athletes from the weekend warrior to professional athletes.  Most recently he served as a Clinical Athletic Trainer at a Boulder sports medicine clinic.  Prior to this he was an Athletic Trainer with the Chicago Blackhawks of the NHL for 6 years, additionally he has worked with teams from the NBA, MLB, MLS and NFL.  He continues to work with the US Rugby and US Soccer national teams

Michael has been active with legislation in the athletic training profession.  He also teaches courses in anatomy and rehabilitation throughout the country.  Michael received a B.S. degree in Athletic Training from Southern Illinois University and a M.S. degree in Sports Medicine and Exercise Physiology from the University of Illinois. 

Michael and his wife Amy reside in Aurora and enjoy spending time with their triplets (Charlie, Molly and Katy) and their twins (Patrick and Daniel).  Yes, you are reading this correctly, trips and twins!!!!! He also is a volunteer at The Denver Children’s Hospital.

Nicole Fox, PT, DPT, Owner, Director

Nicole Fox has been a practicing Orthopedic Physical Therapist for over 5 years.  She is originally from Ohio and graduated from the University of Toledo in 2006 with a Masters in Physical Therapy.  Due to her commitment to learning, she obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2012 from Rosalind Franklin University in North Chicago, Illinois while continuing to work full-time in a leading orthopedic practice.  Nicole is an advocate of using evidence-based practice in order to deliver the highest level of patient care.  She specializes in treating a variety of orthopedic conditions, including but not limited to: post-surgical, emphasis on manual therapy techniques, coupled with individualized exercise programs and patient education to ensure long-term success.

Nicole recently moved to Colorado with her husband Steve and two dogs.  In her time away from the clinic, Nicole enjoys running marathons, climbing fourteeners, and other outdoor activites that Colorado has to offer.

Grace Oviatt is a Colorado native who was born and raised in Boulder. From a young age she has been involved in sports such as volleyball, basketball and soccer and has always had a special interest in orthopedics and sports injury rehabilitation. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. More recently she graduated from the University of Colorado at the Anschutz Medical campus with a Doctor of Physical Therapy degree.  Grace places emphasis on the use of evidence-based practice and continuously strives to integrate the most current literature into her plan of care in order to ensure high quality patient management. She also has a special interest in pediatric rehabilitation as well as the female athlete and enjoys working with patients with acute, chronic and post-surgical diagnoses. In her free time Grace loves spending time with friends and family outdoors enjoying all that Colorado has to offer. She enjoys snow boarding, skiing, running, hiking, mountain biking and playing volleyball.

Rachel is a Wisconsin native who grew p playing multiple sports including softball, soccer, lacrosse, and hockey.  She attended the College of Saint Benedict where she earned a B.A. in nutrition.  After graduation, she decided to move to Colorado to pursue a career as a Physical Therapy Assistant.  In her free time, she enjoys playing hockey, hiking, water and snow skiing, and all things the Colorado outdoors has to offer.

Janis was born in upstate South Carolina and has lived in California, Texas, Sweden - but the longest here in Colorado.  She is married and has 3 children and 2 dogs.  Her hobbies include gardening, painting, reading and learning to play the hammered dulcimer.

She enjoys working at Synapse PT because of the unique, fun, positive and energetic atmosphere created by the talented and dedicated team of employees.  She loves to watch our patients grow and improve in a setting that is tailored to their individual needs.

Kyle was born and raised in Westminster Colorado.  Growing up, he played hockey for 15 years and was a client at Impact Sports Performance for five of those years.  In his free time he enjoys skating, working out and reading.  Kyle has a passion for health care and currently is in the process of applying to go back to school for physician assistant studies.

David has been treating athletes and injured clients since 1999.  He manages Boulder Therapeutics which has 2 office locations:  Boulder & Broomfield.  He and his team of therapists specialize in Sports Therapy, Injury Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Deep Tissue massage for the relief of chronic pain patterns. They worked with the Colorado Rapids for 12 seasons and combine a number of therapeutic techniques from various modalities such as Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation, Deep Tissue Massage, Myofascial Release, Strain/Counter Strain, Trigger Point Therapy, and Breath Awareness.

David worked as the Team Massage Therapist for the Colorado Rapids MLS Soccer from 1999-2010, with the USA Rugby Team and a number of other professional athletes & teams.  He is a national speaker and Anatomy Instructor for Core Power Yoga Teacher Training & other studios since 2005.  He has also worked with the Denver Center for Performing Arts Dancers and Traveling Performers since 2000: Lord of the Dance, Kiss Me Kate, Burn the Floor, Victor Victoria, The Little Mermaid, Professional Cyclists and Athletes (NFL, World Cup, Olympic, All Star), MMA fighters, many Chiropractor, Physical Therapy and Doctor referrals, and is a Speaker at the Boulder College of Massage Therapy.

David works from the Boulder office location and can discuss your treatment options via phone or email.
He lives in Nederland with his wife Elsa, and 2 children Skylar & Jayden.

Ashley received her massage therapy certification from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy. After studying massage for 2 years, she graduated with over 1,000 hours of hands-on training and massage experience.  She works with Boulder Therapeutics and provides results-oriented massage therapy.

She has a kind-hearted nature and is passionate about helping her clients heal.  Her areas of expertise are:  Sports Massage , Trigger Point Therapy, Injury Rehab/Prevention,  Swedish Massage  and  Therapeutic Deep Tissue Massage. 

Ashley is an athlete having competed in snowboarding, soccer and rugby at the national level.  She has run many of Boulder's local 5-10K races and also has training in dance.  With her background in athletics, Ashley understands the therapeutic needs of today's athletes. Her education, knowledge, and experience with the treatment of basic athletic injuries aid her in the evaluation and treatment of her clients. 

Experience: Ashley has been working with the Colorado Rapids Major League soccer team since 2008 providing mid-week and game-day treatments to the players. She has 3 years experience as a medical assistant to high school trainers and has provided massage therapy to many different athletes from International Rugby teams (such as the Argentina Jaguars) to professional fighters (MMA) to runners at Bolder Boulder.

Jessica’s accolades include her 750-hour program massage certification from the nationally acclaimed Boulder College of Massage Therapy and Bachelor’s Degree in Integrative Physiology from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Her education was focused on the human body so that she could pursue a career that involved integrating and sustaining healthy and functional lifestyles.

Since the age of 16, Jessica has known that a hands-on career in a health field was her calling. When physical therapists were not able to help her with the pain she endured as a semiprofessional ballerina, she decided she wanted to get involved in a similar field to help future individuals. After her 12-year dance career ended, she found yoga and running. She hasprovided massage to CrossFit athletes, team members of the Denver Barbos Rugby Club, internationally touring musicians and dancers, and students in the CU Dance and Athletic Program. Jessica’s personal knowledge of athletics in addition to her Sports Massage training enable her to work very well with healthy and injured athletes, including athletes possibly in transition.

Jessica’s massage expertise integrates from several modalities including Sports and Orthopedic Massage, Deep Tissue Massage, Trigger Point Therapy, Myofascial Release, Injury Rehabilitation, and Postural Assessment. She has experience working with clients who suffer from chronic and acute pain, sports injuries, and automobile accidents.

Jessica has her own history with closed head trauma in the form of a concussion, torn and severely pulled muscles, and above average scoliosis. Her personal experience with severe injuries helps her uniquely identify with the physical, mental, and emotional needs of her clients. Jessica’s work as been described as “intuitive” and “problem solving”.
